Festival statt. 2 Tage voller Punk, Politik und Party!

Das Festival hat in seinem Ursprung den Gedanken Menschen dahingehend zu mobilisieren, die antifaschistischen, emanzipatorischen Projekte Oldenburgs aktiv zu unterstützen.
Das Festival ist für uns neben jeder Menge Musik und Spaß auch eine Plattform um untereinander in Gespräche zu kommen die uns aktuell beschäftigen. Die Jahre davor war es uns wichtig, um über die Gentrifizierung und die Verdrängung vom Haus Friedensbruch, dem Punk-A-Platz und der Wagenburg zu sprechen. Dieses Jahr liegt es uns am Herzen, auf die Hausdurchsuchung im Alhambra am 23.05.2018 hinzuweisen, die dazu diente, die kurdischen Bewegungen zu kriminalisieren und die Solidarität mit diesen zu brechen.
Das andere große Thema welches uns schon sehr lange beschäftigt ist das Sterben von Geflüchteten im Mittelmeer. Verschärft wurde dies mit dem Verbot der privaten Seenotrettung. Als prominentes Beispiel sei hier die Mission Lifeline genannt, wo auch unser diesjähriger Soli hingeht.
Unser kleiner Beitrag zur Vernetzung ist dieses Festival – Vielleicht entsteht ja aus dem ein oder anderen Gesprächen doch etwas mehr!
The festival roots in the idea of mobilizing people into being an active part of the antifascist and emancipatory projects in Oldenburg. Besides the music and the fun we see the festival as a platform of discussion and exchange concerning topics around us.
It has been most important to us to talk about gentrification and the displacement of the local squat „Haus Friedensbruch“ as well as the caravan camps „Punkaplatz“ and „Wagenplatz“.
This year we also want to talk about the house search at the Alhambra on May 23rd this year which had the goal to criminalize the kurdish struggle and break our solidarity.
Yet we also want to talk about the dying in the mediterranean sea! The ban of private rescue operations intensified the situation massively during the last few weeks/months. One polular example would be Mission Lifeline, which is going to receive this years festivals profits. This is our small part in the networking process, maybe one of the dialoques will result in a little more!
